Our Training Program is a fast-paced and rigorous program designed to produce safe, reliable, responsible, knowledgeable, and competent bus drivers. The program offers students an opportunity to earn a New York State Class B Commercial Drivers License. Not only will trainees earn this valuable license, they will also receive a small stipend upon successful completion of the program.
The training program is currently a five-week program. Trainees have three to four three-hour driving sessions and a one-hour classroom session a week. The times for these sessions are flexible and we try our best to accommodate individual obligations. We do, however, require a certain level of flexibility from trainees. The program is fast-paced with the New York State CDL Class B Road Test occurring after the fourth week of driving. While the program is demanding, it is meant to be challenging and fun. Most of our drivers look at training as a unique and rewarding experience. All training and classroom sessions are mandatory. No exceptions.
NOTE: Training does not end after the road test! Hiring decisions are based upon successful completion of our entire program.
OCCT is an Equal Opportunity Employer and conforms to all federal, state, and Binghamton University hiring guidelines. Hiring decisions are based upon:

Upon being hired, drivers are required to participate in several unpaid programs like defensive driving. Drivers are also subject to random drug-testing.
